Default MMI Display not turning on

Hello Audi owners - I have a 2014 Audi S5 convertible and a couple of weeks a go, my MMI display stop turning on. At this point, I have no radio or any feature that is control on the display, only in few occasions, my center console panel red light blinks just once or twice but no more than that. Can someone help me to troubleshoot this display to learn the reason?

Thank you in advance.

Default MMI Display

Look for the on / off display switch on the bottom side of the wiper / washer control stick. You may haveaccidentally turned the display off.

thank you for your feedback. I checked for the on/off switch by the wiper/washer stick but all I have there is a reset button. However, MMI display in very few occasions, turns on for will go off about 30 seconds after so, that tells me that unit is actually on a on mode. It sounds to me like connectivity issue here.

Have you tried a reboot? If not.....

Press Menu, Center black selection button and top right silver key at the same time when the car is on. Hold them for a few seconds and this will reboot your MMI system.

This happened to me on my 2015 s5 tried rebooting but no luck, dealer had the car for a week couldn't get the mmi to come back on. When it finally did come back the dealer was advised by Audi to update the software, once updated haven't had an issue since. This unfortunately was only 2 months back so time will tell.

I tried already the reboot option but unfortunately, didn't work out. However, I'm now going to consider the option to update the software and lets see what happen after that.
Thank you

Hello Audi friends - So want it to share my latest progress with my 2014 Audi S5 MMI system. I was very concern taking the car to a shop that was not expert with Audi so, decided to take the car to an Audi dealer... OUCHHH. Long story short, I'm getting a new module for $3100 and now they are having trouble with the amplifier. The problem here is that dealer cost is $1100 more for this unit. I was wondering if anyone out there have a place where I can order a refurbish amp or a store were I can get it for less? the serial no. is 8F1-035-223-A Amp/Booster?

Default 2011 S5 MMI

the last time I was at the dealer they pointed out the pixels on my mmi screen were flickering. They had quoted me $2k to replace the unit.

i usually have the mmi in media mode playing off my iPod & I never noticed the flickering, it looks like flickering only shows up when on radio mode. That’s where the dealer noticed it, in radio mode.

just an FYI, Your quoted price is a lot higher.
