Need new brake pads and rotors
Car just came back from the dealership to fix a water pump issue. I’m being told that it is time to change the pads and rotors. Price of $880.. went to a local shop where I get my oil changes from and they are charging me $850.. how much money did you guys spend for this?

I have a '15 S5 and had some excessive "squealing" from just the front brakes. Long story short, the dealership ended up providing a free 1-time, no warranty replacement of the rotors and pads (front) (for details look at list of Posts for "...squealing brakes...).
However, before I got them to agree to the "free" work, I was quoted $1,600 for just the front rotors and pads (they offered to discount to $1,200). Anyway, kind of a moot point since they ended up doing it for free.
I'm curious if the $880 is just fronts or for all four corners?

Blauparts.com (vendor directory) offers a front Audi A5 brake kit for $270, instructions included. There are also clips on youtube - a great resource!! We're not all mechanically inclined and it's sometimes easier to outsource the work...it's a very individual call. For myself an afternoon in the garage working on a vehicle is my "zen" time.

Wow indeed... seems my friendly "local" Stealership tried to pull a fast one on me with their "kind" offer to discount to $1,200. The rig has a pre-paid Audicare maintenance package so I'm probably have them do the scheduled stuff... but will check-out a closer independent "German Auto Car" shop for anything "elective." Thx!
