Default new (to me) A5

been searching for an S5 (the 4.2L, 354 hp V8 version) for over a year now.

finding the exact match with auto trans, preferred interior & exterior color, including the Prestige option package, has proven quite difficult.
meanwhile, my thus far faithful, reliable & still fun-to-drive 2006 A4 2.0L T is getting long in the tooth....
....132k miles & needing new tires, new brake pads & rotors, water pump & timing belt replacement....
....& if i were to keep it much longer, an upgrade to the suspension which would include all new urethane bushings along with shocks & springs at all four corners.

over the weekend, while checking out some possible alternatives (i.e. the A5 which is far more plentiful than the S5 on the used market) i came across something that just did not sound right.
everything in the 2009 to 2012 range was running $18k- $24k with 65k to 90k miles on the odometers.
then i spotted a 2011 A5 2.0T at the nearby Acura dealer listed at $16,200 with 49k mileage.

i did not even test drive it before i handed over the keys to my old '06, signed next to the "X" & brought it home on Wednesday evening.

Part number for the trunk luggage hook is 6Y5 867 615C. You can get the one from China through Ebay for cheap.

No problem :-) That's one of the weird AoA corporate decisions. B8 and 8.5 A5's and S5's were missing the trunk bag hooks. Up here in Canada, they're standard as with the netting on the right hand cubby in the trunk.

Just a heads-up. Since you bought it used, keep an eye on oil consumption. Some 2.0L TFSI engines have excessive oil consumption issues. Otherwise, the 2.0L TFSI engine is a great power plant. I enjoyed it in my 2011 VW GTI.

now i understand.....it seemed odd given the car's option package'
just ordered the side net, too.

yep, one of the concerns i had.
hopefully the previous owner kept it topped off with oil & the engine is a good one.
having my V experienced & trusted mechanic give it a thorough inspection on Wednesday.

so far i absolutely love this car.
the ride & handling are fabulous.
firmly planted, well controlled & balanced, solid as if from a single billet.

have not had chance or desire to 'test' it out yet.
just some mild around-town driving along with my 8 mile round trip to work.
will wait to 'open it up' until after my mechanic gives me permission ....

can someone please verify the part# for the dip stick for the 2011 A5 2.0t FSI?
i am getting contradictory results via my google searches.

not sure if this correct: 06J115611E

btw, got a clean bill of health from my mechanic on Wednesday.
& no detectable oil consumption after 300 miles of mostly city driving, so far.

but, the cap just disappeared from the MMI ****....?
oem replacement just ordered via amazone for <$20 :-)

I looked up the Part Number of the Dipstick through the parts catalogue for the VW GTI 2.0L TFSI engine. It is Item #21 in the diagram. It seems that the part number you found above is correct.

many thanks, plat

just ordered from ECS.....on sale for REIN brand $15 vs $50 for genuine
still, ECS's web site says it does not fit A5 despite the V same part#

i will compare the level on the stick to the electronic display & see how they compare after it arrives.

No problem! The 2.0L TFSI engine is used in a lot of VW models too. So that dipstick should be OK for the 2.0L TFSI engine found in Audis.
