Default oil leak

Hi,
I have had an Audi S5 2013 for about 1 year now with 40,000 mile on it. Oil was changed at 35,500 and I just got a oil warning light. It required a quart of oil, which begs the question How can I have dropped 1 quart of oil in that amount of time. I guess my question is any one out there had a similar experience and most importantly should I be concerned about this and is there anything that I should do about it,.

had a similar issue----- discovered that the dope doing the oil change did not put in appropriate amount in at oil change-- and I was driving around for 2 weeks with one less quart than spec............ridiculous. the best part is when I called the shop they said the spec they looked up for the car was wrong .

so top it off and check it every 500 miles until you are convinced it's consuming oil ---- don't worry about it

best part it was my 4 runner------ not one of my audi's I am convinced that I could drive that 4 runner for 100k miles with a tea spoon of oil in it and it would run fine. ha

I am dealing with similar issue on 2013 RS5 with 40k. Car has used 1.5qts in less than 6months, but no visible sign of leak. Taking it to dealer for evaluation

What did you determine about the source of the excessive oil consumption?

my 2011 Q7 drinks oil like crazy. No leaks, no issues. Just burns a lot of oil. The 3.0 supercharged engine seems to just drink oil

Any updates? Are you positive the correct amount was added during the last oil change? There was a big hubbub a while back on the R8 forum as the factory procedure for filling was not allowing for a correct fluid level reading. They were overfilling, not under. I always measure the old oil and add accordingly. After the initial fill, it's necessary to start the car and let it warm up to operating temperature. You then turn the car off and wait two minutes but two minutes wasn't long enough and they needed to wait for four.

The RS5 is not known for burning oil so hopefully it's something simple.
