Parking brake / Hill hold function?

Trying to figure out how the heck my parking brake works. I usually put it on when I park in my garage. Sometimes it will release when i start to drive away, other times I need to manually release it.

Is this some kind of hill hold function. is there any rhyme or reason to this or am i imagining the whole thing?

Tim

It will only release if you have had your foot on the brake. It is explained in the manual.

The seat belt need to be on in order to releases automatically the parking brake. At least on the manual transmission.
