Does anyone know when the 2015 S5 ordering information will be available? I am trying to time my order so I can do European delivery in August. So far there haven't been a lot of details on the 2015 S5. It sounds like the redesigned (200 lb lighter) version will be model year 2016. Any info would be great.

Hopefully this means that the 2015 A5/S5/RS5 will be introduced next Tuesday. The details are a bit limited, but based on the news item it looks like the 2015 maybe be quite a bit lighter than the 2014 and the engine specs appear to match some of the 'redesign' specs that have been circulating around. Any thoughts? B8 Platform?

Regardless I am looking forward to Tuesday.

You may already be too late for an August delivery. You have to order about 4-5 months in advance and with August delivery, you are running into the summer vacations in Germany where the factory capacity is significantly reduced.

I did European Delivery last April and I had to order at the beginning of December. Granted it was an RS5, which probably needs more lead time given the limited production, but in your case I would be concerned about the impact of the summer vacations as I said.

Thanks for the heads up. I spoke to my Audi dealer last week and she seems to think I am ok. She did not have any 2015 ordering info yet, so I will have to wait and see. We're you able to order 2014 in December 2012?

No, my RS5 is a 2013. Orders for the next model year usually start in spring for late August/September delivery. European Delivery is pretty well organized, but the dealer is at the mercy of Germany. They won't actually confirm your delivery date until the car goes into production. An S5 is definitely more straight forward, because your dealer doesn't need an allocation. RS and R8 need dealer allocation, even for European Delivery.
