Default Question about winter wheels&tires for 2010 S5

I totally ruined my 19" OEM wheels and tires last winter and I'm thinking about purchasing Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero (Performance Winter/Snow)245/40/18 for my 2010 S5. I was wondering if these wheels on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/270819021812...S:1123&vxp=mtr) would be compatible with the tires and the vehicle. The seller somehow could not answer the question.. lol, Any tips guys?

These ought to work - bolt pattern (5 x 112mm), bore (66.6mm) and offset (35) are all good. The only issue is that your 245 width tires are about the widest you can put on an 8" wide rim - they should work OK, but if you had the chance to get the rims in 8-1/2 inch width it would be a better match.

I have a set of 18x8 wheels in a replica design from that same seller (OEMWheelsPlus), with the same size winter tires that is being contemplated, 245-40-18. That tire size on that size wheel seems to be a perfect fit. It doesn't seem as if the tire is too wide for the wheel at all. See photos below.

Also, although I haven't driven on these wheels/tires yet, the wheels look like they're nice quality, and the place that did the tire mounting and balancing commented on how nice the wheels were, and how well they balanced. I'll be able to comment more after I drive on them.

Or go to Tire Rack and get a set of wheels and tires, mounted and balanced. I paid $1664 for a set of reasonably priced and appearing wheels mounted with Michelin Alpin 3 winter tires for my 2012 S5. Have not had much snow here in ND so far, but ride, handling and road noise are most acceptable.
