Default Recall electric aftervrun coolant pump

Now they want me to go in and have pump disconnected. Replacement pump not available until late December. Wont the carvrun hotter when shut off if this pump is disconnected?

They keep warning of fire and asking me to keep the car outside, which they did months ago before this latest half assed solution. Dealer claims little risk of fire. Thoughts?

Just got the disconnect done today. I'm also uncertain and I'm wondering if the pump is unnessary or the pump will extend engine life. I park in my garage so I felt sorta threatened if the car burned down the house it would be my problem. I was also told parts would be ready in Jan. So I guess the pump is necessary, just not for the next few months?

It's just the stupid lawyers trying to CYA. Like nobody will sue them if the car burns down the house because they told you not to park in the garage...hahaha

I think a class action lawsuit is not too far away... especially if someone's house gets burnt down or someone's engine/turbo dies prematurely because the coolant pump was disconnected.

I guess I'm going leave the engine running for a few minutes after driving before shutdown like the old school turbo cars (i.e. turbo timer).

Good job Audi!

I am taking my B8.5 in to the dealer on December 5th. for both the auxillary cooling pump and the auxillary heater. I have read elsewhere that Audi is sending out letters extending the turbo warranty from the date of the upgrade. Anyone here receive one yet?

The Aux pump is for the turbo.

Interestingly enough, just got the extended warranty on the turbo in the mail from Audi USA . Adds 4 years to the turbo post recall completion.
