Default Replacing a Battery on a S5

Hello, I made a post about a month ago and people have mentioned replacing the battery on a 2009 Audi S5. I would like to replace the battery myself as I have on all my other vehicle. I was wondering what I would have to do for this. I am sure it is not as simple as just swapping them out because of all the different module, so just want to see if its something I can handle doing or if I should take it to a shop.

I'm no car expert/mechanic or anything close to one but I swapped out the battery myself (2010 Audi S5). Just unbolt the hold-down bracket and the terminals and swap it out.

Change the battery, don't sweat it. The only concern would be if you have permitted the battery to go completely dead.

The battery I have now has not gone completely dead yet, thankfully. I was looking on line to see if I could find one around and I have found that there is a few to choose from. Some with 850 Cold cranking amps, 900 Cold cranking amps, and a few others. I was looking on my battery to see if it told me what it was but could not tell right away. The battery does have a few numbers on it 12v 110Ah 520A DIN 850A EN/SAE. Not sure if that means it has 850 Cold cranking amps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently replaced the OEM battery in my '15 S5. Same part # as yours - 8K0915105F - although mine was made in Germany by Moll. Same specs, too - 110 Ah & 850 A. It was a flooded-acid type battery with a group size of H9/95R (15½" x 6 7/8" x 7½", 65 lb).

I replaced it with an H9 AGM battery from Advance Auto Parts rated at 105 Ah and 950 A (Part No. H9-AGM). Installation was fairly easy and straightforward for a trunk-mounted battery. I had to use my VCDS to recode after installation.

I used an online purchase code - OFFERS25 - for a 25% discount.

Awesome, really glad to hear. When replacing the battery I just have to make sure the car has a constance power supply while replacing it, and doing so I shouldn't have to reprogram it. If I am wrong just let me know but thats what I have read. I am glad I could find a battery and avoid taking it to the dealership and having them charge me $500+ just to change a battery...

I used my VCDS to recode the Battery Control Module so it would know that a new battery had been installed. That's different from losing programmed settings when you disconnect the battery without a 12 volt source connected to the car.

This is correct. Resetting the battery management by entering the new battery serial # informs the charging system that a new battery is present and adjusts the charging rate accordingly. Some have reported that new batteries installed without doing so have failed prematurely due to overcharging.
I purchased a battery for a Q7 and an A6 from my Audi Dealer for this reason and installed myself. Registering the new # was not difficult with VCDS.
Surprisingly the Audi OEM batteries were very competitively priced.
