Hi just bought a 2012 A5 Cabriolet, I knew I'd be installing Apple CarPlay so did not need to spend the extra and go for SatNav, however I've now realised it would be great to control the CarPlay from a retrofitted MMI control installed in the gear surround.

I've purchased the control 8TO 919 609 WFX and the required connector 8E0 972 416 (pics below)

My question is does anyone know the wiring layout of the 16 pin plug that connects to the gear surround MMI control (only pins 6,7,8,10,13,14,15 & 16 appear to be in use)

Appreciate is sounds complicated and probably stupid to most of you but it would really make a difference to me.

Photos attached of;
- new (used) gear surround
- the plug socket on the underside of the gear surround
- the plug that goes into the above socket

Any thoughts gratefully received, I've spend a few hours trawling these forums and can't find this specific question or anything related that might help!

Forgot to say, the CarPlay is the one that installs inline with my existing Chorus and Screen, so I'd need if its possible to tap the 16 pin plug into the cables that go into my existing Chorus
