RS5 throttle body cleaning how to video
Just a relatively short video on cleaning the throttle bodies and then running the throttle valve adjustment adaptation using the VCDS. This is a good procedure for higher mileage RS5's. Wasn't really necessary on my car but why the heck not.

As far as I know, it is. I have the VCDS and didn't want to risk damaging anything as I'm in a higher state of tune than an original car. I have seen where some Audis automatically do the alignment adaptation when you turn on the ignition but don't start the car. Usually though, if it's not a needed procedure, it isn't offered in the VCDS. There won't be an option of doing the alignment through the VCDS.
If you do not have one, I highly suggest acquiring one. I use a very cheap, light 13" laptop for the VCDS alone although they now offer a Bluetooth version which works with phones/tablets.

Very interesting,
Is the VCDS like a vagcom system that is plugged in? What are its other uses?
If so where can I purchase?
thankyou.
BTW I just watched your B8.5 is gorgeous

Thanks for the compliment!
The VCDS is the Vag-Com. It's just what they call it now. https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/
It does plug into the OBDII port and has multiple uses from pulling codes, to coding new parts, to customizing settings, maintenance procedures like the throttle body alignment and even logging of all available engine/transmission/brake/system functions. It's pretty much a must-have in my book. I just bought the three license version. You can add more later if needed.

The Carista is fine but it's very basic compared to the VCDS. The VCDS does require you own a Windows laptop. I'm a Mac guy and always find them completely infuriating with no intuitive logic whatsoever. But...it's a necessary evil I guess. You'll be able to do a whole lot more with the VCDS and I don't believe the Carista has any of the adaptation/maintenance features that the VCDS does. https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/vchv2_ent/ Absolutely no affiliation with them, I just use it. Probably the best tool I've bought for the car!
