Default RS5 vs RS7

I am looking for my next Audi and am struggling between the RS5 and RS7. I had an 2003 RS6 and loved it. I like the idea the extra room of the RS7 (not to mention the extra ponies), but am unsure as to whether the cost difference will be worth it. Although RS7 pricing is not out, I am suspecting that it will be 20-25K more than the RS5. Or maybe I should just get an A8L 4.0T which has similar performance to my RS6 and loads of room! I am so confused. Any thoughts?( Also posted on A7 board)

Thanks.

The A7 is a beautiful car, possibly better looking than the A5. So I would suspect that the RS7 would be just awesome.

If you can wait, time will reveal the RS7 details.

However, I really doubt the A8 with 4.0T will be a better looking or driving car than the RS7.

Thanks. I am really leaning towards the RS7, but trying to justify cost, as well as decide whether I really need the extra room. I realize the A8L is a different animal completely; likely not a real option. Problem is too many great options !

If I had it to do over I probably would have waited for the RS7 even though the price will be pretty close to an R8. Dealing with a baby seat in the RS5 can be a real pain.

The A7 style is my least favorite design of the Audi lineup.
I would chose an S8 or the RS5 which is much more attractive.
Actually the A7/S7/RS7 is a car that i deslike very much.
Its big but not as elegant as an A6. Its coupeish but not as sporty and its proportions not nearly as goog as an A5.

Dont forget RS7 comes with 4 seats..expected MSRP for base(without any options) to start at around $100k..though will be brutally fast car!!

I believe the RS7 may also have the option for the bench seat in the rear. I'll have to confirm this.

Edit: Confirmed, no seat option for S7 or RS7. That's almost a deal breaker for me. (not that I can afford one, anyway).

I'm in the same boat. I saw the A7 in Europe long before they were available in the US and I thought that's a great looking car, but then the more I saw them and now see them in the US as well, the more I dislike the look. The droopy butt is not working for me at all. The RS7 looks promising, but no fender bulges. An S7 with a body kit essentially as far as looks are concerned. Performance is another story of course.

Aside from that it's a huge car. I don't need rear seats most of the time, so that's why I'm going back from a 4-door to a coupe personally. Also as somebody said just like the 5, the 7 is a 4 seater and not a 5 seater.

Are you kidding? The RS5 is around $78K - $82K. The S7 is around $96K - $98 K. The RS7 will be pretty much up there with the R8 - $130K.
