2013-2016 Audi S4 & S5....what are really the differences?

Aside from the obvious physical differences and dimensions, both are very much the same in terms of features, drive train, and tech. Buyers that want a 4 door go for the S4 while coupe lovers go for the S5.

Not sure if you are looking for model year to model year differences or just coupe vs sedan differences. On the latter besides the obvious 4 door vs 2 door, the coupe is viewed as a bit sportier. It's wider and lower, so the handling will be a bit better than the narrower and taller sedan. Coupes are generally also tuned a bit different than their sedan counterparts. Not sure how much of that is the case with the B8, but with the B9 Audi has made a point that they tuned the B9 S5 different from the B9 S4.

As for year to year differences, mostly comes down to options and packaging and continues improvements of the software and mechanics. No big differences. If the technology is what matters to you, then there are some differences to consider. MY2013 have an outdated telephone module, so they only get a 2G signal in markets where T-Mobile has recently moved their 3G band to a different part of their spectrum, starting with MY2014 there is an updated module that supports the new frequencies and technically also supports AT&T, however, Audi doesn't let you officially use AT&T until MY2016 where they switched from T-Mobile to AT&T.
