S5 consuming lots of gasoline

It has nothing to do with gas prices, it has to do we the amount of gas you use, think man, think.
If we are driving 3x's as long on average per day, to get to our destinations, then we are paying equivalent in terms of amount spent on gas per day.
Being that the US is larger, mass transit is nearly as well defined, and people commute by car much farthre than older smaller more established countries. So, while in Poland he may be paying $9 gallon and in the US we are paying $3 a gallon, due to the difference in public transportation infrastructure as well as distances commuted, then it's wash.
This is of course based on 2 assumptions though
1) Poland has good and used mass transit infrastructure as most European countries do, (eastern or western)
2) Polish citizens don't commute as far as American citizen's to go to work etc .... (what we do probably know is that the US because it has more space to work with spreads things out a bit, it's like the difference between Northern Cities and Soruthern Cities in the US Southern Cities in the US tend to spread outward and aren't as tightly packed in terms of building arrangement because they have the land, Northern Cities tend to have tons of tall buildings and the city mainly grows up instead of out, because, simply put they don't have the space to spread out, so ... this makes commuter mass transit more viable, as well as people tend to be closer to their destinations in terms of commuting to work and if they aren't they are likely to take mass transit not drive)

My buddy's got an S5, he's actually on the forum, and his car also burns a lot of fuel. That's the nature of the beast. Heavy car, big V8, AWD .. everything's working against you at that point.
What I lose in power I gain in gas mileage with my 2.0T 6MT. Over 350miles on one tank, with a mix of highway and city driving. Loving it.

I have a auto s5 and i drive it pretty hard but I guess not as hard as you guys. I get about 20 in the city driving (315 a tank) and on the highway I get about 22 (345 a tank). I live in dallas so there are a lot of long highways but still decent amout of side street driving.

I have a 2010 S5 6MT, I get about 330 miles from a tank for my daily driving which is a mix of city and rush hour highway driving. I have done a bit better on road trips. I had an ARP 93 octane tune done on my ECU and it improved my gas mileage by 8 - 10%. It really smooths out the engine, too.
