spots on deck lid

I have a 2016 S5 , I noticed four small brown spots on the deck lid, tried to polish, also tried clear coat compound. they must be below the paint, Has any one had this problem?

No, but from your description, it sounds like iron fallout. Are you near a railway line?

I don't live by a railroad, these are below the paint. Will try to post picture later

Up date on the brown spots on the deck lid, Audi is covering the repainting, bringing car in tomorrow , will follow up when completed. Hopefully they will have an answer when they remove paint and repaint lid.
