Default What do you guys think of this deal? Yay or nay

Dealership has a 2009 Audi A5 3.2 with 32,000 miles
It has all possible options nav, backup camera, advanced key.
It is not a s-line package :/
Other caveat is that it was in a accident. They say they don't know where the damage took place.
But it is on the carfax report.

They are asking $35k

Should I jump on it?

They offered 20k for my A6 4.2 with 70k miles....

I'd pretty much be paying the same amount I am currently paying on my current car note.

It's ibis white with black interior btw.

I would really appreciate any input.

Also does the 3.2 guzzle gas? I remember my Q5 3.2 loaner to be a heavy drinker.

This reply is just personal but I would only buy a used car from someone I knew and trusted who revealed everything about the car. Call me paranoid but I just don't trust used cars, plus a big part of the PURE JOY of owning an Audi is ordering exactly what you want, then waiting for that baby to arrive. The whole experience was a blast and then my S5 Cab. is off the charts as far as satisfaction goes.
Good luck in your mission.

I would never buy a car that has been in an accident -- you don't know how bad the damage was, if it was fixed correctly, etc...and if they can't tell you anything about the accident, you don't even know what to look at to see if it was repaired correctly.

Sounds like a pretty good deal (if it's CPO as uberwgn points out) . . . .that is until you get the to wreck thing. I have a hard time believing the dealer doesn't know or can't tell what was damage/repaired in the accident. Perhaps there's no funny business here, but that would make me leery unless I could confirm the car hadn't been on a frame straightener post-accident.

I agree 100%. These are tempermental cars to begin with. You don't want anything that's not original. You may be asking for trouble.

I would never buy a car that has been in an accident. Resale value and saleability on this car will be much lower than a car with no accidents. And the price you mention isn't that good. There are plenty of A5s out there in the $35-$38k range that haven't been in accidents.

They canot tell you anything about the "accident"? If the car is CPO, they are supposed to inspect the car completely, that means putting it on a lift and examining the car completely. This would be my number one concern.

As far as fuel consumption, a Q5 is heavier than an A5, plus I frankly dont mind a woman that drinks. And what about your A6 4.2? That is not a social drinker for sure.

There are better examples, keep looking. Check out a4mulet30red's S5.

Good luck.
