Typically, the Order Guides come out in April, then Ordering is opened in May for end of July/beginning of August delivery of the new MY.

However, AoA has been talking about releasing the A/S4 refresh and the A4 Allroad in June as a MY13 model. If that is the case for the A/S5 as well, then back up the process to Feb for guides, March for ordering.

I'm thinking about ordering a 2012 A5 Convertible but I noticed AoA has already lowered the residual on the 2012 A5 in November (while leaving the residual on all other models the same). This leads me to believe that 2013 models will probably arrive much earlier than June. If I'm right, the 2013 order guide should be out in the next few weeks.

I wouldn't interpret a residual drop as a harbinger of early model arrival. Remember, the convertible, particularly the lower MSRP'd models, will drop residual faster during colder weather. This is because 3 years later at the end of the lease, the convertible will be less desirable (less of an impulse buy) in the winter than say an SUV. The next drop in residual will probably happen in early January and then my estimate is that it will remain steady until new model year arrival. But I'm not in the auto finance industry - just a physician who loves cars!

Also, do the math. Because of the higher residual and sometimes better money factor, the S5 convertible may be more reachable on lease than you think. PM me if you want what I think is a reputable dealership.
