Default Why are 2014-2016 S5 so hard to find in SOCal?

Serious thinking here on selling my 14 SQ for a S5 Prestige. Dam, forget about finding many if any. Not only do I not see any on the streets here{Long Beach area} but I can hardly find any to just test drive. A few Premium Plus here and there but I mean one here and one way out there. Were they limited or just not bought?

I would not get caught up in prestige vs premiums plus. When I was shopping I found listing that were incorrect or not listed at all. Yes I believe there were fewer prestige. Many of the options on prestige were avail on plus so if there are ones you are looking for, learn how to spot them. it is tough as namy ads do not accurately list of they do not know. You may have to go by some of the pictures.

As far as driving, there are no difference in the drivetrains. Drive whatever model you can find, then shop for what you want. Don't be afraid of getting one outside of your area and going to get it or having it transported.

And with that said, I was looking for a fully optioned prestige and that is what I found. As far as price, there would have been a big difference in price between the prestige and plus but used, there really is not in most cases.

Yes, having got my Sq5 I am fully into the difference in prestige vs premiums plus but one thing I want and it's only on the prestige is the Driver Assist package which of course make it's even harder.

From the 2015 manual

Driver Assistance package

Available on Prestige models

► Dynamic steering

► Audi adaptive cruise control
* in pictures of the front, easy enough to see the sensor

► Audi drive select
* available a separate option on plus
* it was an option I had to have do in the pictures, I always looked for the drive select button

Interesting that they talk about the Audi adaptive cruise control but not about the Driver Assist package that adds adaptive steering and forward collision mitigation system.

…………..not quite sure what you are saying.

I have the package on my 2014 S5 cab. Collision mitigation is part of the adaptive cruise. I believe adaptive steering is only present with drive select. Bottom line if the car you are looking at has the dash button and the cruise sensor, you have what you want.

Well they only talk about the adaptive cruise keeping your distance from the car in front but says nothing that I saw about Collision mitigation.

Guess you are correct. I thought I has seen something but I looked and nothin. Anyway I can assure you it is part of the adaptive cruise control. You need the sensor. Note the collision avoidance is active without the cruise being on. It will give a chime warning and a dash indication if you are approaching an object too fast and will apply the brake if you do not slow down. I have NOT verified if it will stop you in time preventing a collision lol. I have thought about putting a carboard box in the road and seeing how well it will stop. The only annoyance is some times when a vehicle is making a right turn in front of you and it is out of the way, the collision is still tracking it and I have it apply the brake.
