'Windshield Wipers Defective' ??
The "Windshield Wipers Defective" warning always comes on when i start my 2012 A5, but they seem to be working fine.
It used to come on only when using them. I recently lifted them up out of place and thoroughly cleaned them. Now it always comes on by just starting the car.
Any insight? Are they out of place or something?

When you lifted them out, did you first go through the system so the car automatically placed them in the horizontal service position? ...or did you pull them up when they were slightly tucked in near the hood?
If the latter, I wonder if the alignment was altered?
When the wipers go up/down, are they reaching the extremes they normally do?
