There is one in the showroom 160 miles on it MSRP was $81500 what do you think a good price on that would be?

Well, unless you traveled into the future, you'll have to wait a while before you can buy a 2108 RS5 ;). Sorry I couldn't help it ;). On a more serious note, based on the word on the street it seems many dealers refuse to discount them. Partly perhaps because the MY19s still haven't been released. Many are sitting at the ports with no clear details on when they will be released, so there is currently no MY19 inventory, giving the dealers time to sell the '18s before considering discounts.

Oh, aren't you the guy who regrets his Q8 purchase? Now you are looking at an RS5? You seem to be all over the place. Perhaps you need to meditate a bit and figure out what you really want in a car and then also drive it and not trade a 2 year old car with only 1600 miles for something that you don't like. If you drive it that little why even getting another car? You seem to like and drive your wife's BMW SUVs much more.

I always worry about the hard miles put on a "demo" car. It's always driven with a cold engine, with little concern for the break in period. Dozens of people have been hopping in with less respect than for their own vehicle. Hopefully not red lining it...

Because the dealer said he would consider helping me out. BTW one reason the S6 was never driven was I had neck and back surgery and that had me down for several months. I'm better now but I did want something new. The Q was very nice and I figured that it was the right choice. People make mistakes. I will take my time making the right decision and it may end up doing nothing.

mileage is no indication it was a demo car - my last RS5, which I just sold a couple weeks ago to an out of state gentleman, had about 150 pre delivery because we got the car as a trade from another dealer, who was close enough that they drove it to us. The car was then driven a couple of times on test drives, and moved into the showroom

I'm one who does test drives day in and day out with prospective owners, I have never once had anyone not be mindful of the fact that the engine was cold. If at any point I was concerned for the car, I'd simply tell the person to pull over, get out, and I would drive the rest. Has not happened yet

You cannot get 3 more opposite cars between the S6, Q8 and RS5. Vast, cavernous differences.

If I were you, I'd try to find someplace to rent the RS5 for a couple days from and go from there

+1... Audi had an amazing program here in San Francisco called Audi on Demand. Unfortunately, they terminated it in favor of Silvercar. Audi on Demand rented almost any current Audi model all the way to the R8. I was an avid user and regularly took out their R8s and I used it to extensively test drive all the new RS models. It helped me realize that I much rather look at and occasionally drive an R8 than owning one, and that I don't wanna own any other current Audi model. Audi on Demand is still available in other countries in various forms, but we only get Silvercar here in the USA, which is much less interesting. They only have Q5s, A5 cabs and A4s. I rented other makes through services like Turo and Getaway, which is a bit more difficult as you can rarely find brand new models, but it helps. I have largely given up on test driving a car at a dealership. A 10-20 minute drive around the immediate vicinity of the dealership is just not enough to evaluate a car w/o getting seat time some other way.
