I’d want to know more about the product, how it’s implemented in my car (who and how is the actual programming delivered) and the cost. Will any software updates from Audi wipe out the VIM programming?

And, why haven’t the folks at OBD Eleven discovered it yet?

Yes — I am very cautious and cynical. It pays to be both in today’s world.

I’m going to contact the company and find out more. Will update when I hear back.

I got in touch with the company for VIM. They need you to provide your software version number and they will let you know what you need to do next. From what I heard, they might send you a cable to connect to your OBD to override the VIM restriction. As for whether the new MMI software would take away the VIM code, they said it won’t. I already sent them my MMI version number. As soon as I find out what is involved and cost, I will report back.

Update! From the company this morning.

"Good morning and thank you for providing that info. We are currently working on a Video In Motion solution for the software level on your vehicles. We will be reaching out to all of our client once we have a working solution. Thank you."

So, not actually working yet. I remain skeptical.
