I had a question in regards to the attached picture. Apologies for the rudimentary question, but what is the silver/chrome lining called? I wanted to black it out, but wasn't sure what it was called and wanted to see if I could get this done somewhere.

Exterior window trim?

some in here have had it wrapped in black film.

It's typically called Window Trim... I just did mine over the weekend using .

First time I did it and there's definitely a learning curve if you want to do it yourself. I've gotten quotes from $200-$300 for the window trim alone.

Do you feel now with the black trim you also need to black out all the other chrome?

Haha thanks! For the front grill I had to hire a pro because of the intricacy of the shapes and I was sure I will be making mistakes and just waste hours for a sub-par work.




I will be doing the rest myself and I already have it scheduled for the next few weekends after thanksgiving. The front diffusers, rear valance, and the two big blank area on the grill (Matte Black). I'm also going to be doing the mirror caps and trunk lip and deciding whether to do gloss black like the rest or CF.

I am not 100% happy with my own work - the gloss black isn't too forgiving - it's really difficult to fully tuck the vinyl in the rubber seals on some parts of the window trim. When I have more time I will redo some of them.
