It is a mini-fuse, but make sure that your fuse tap has a gap in between the blades. See photo:
There are other mini-fuse fuse taps but have no spacing in between the blades will not allow the fuse to fully contact and will damage the fuse box.

Yes, it is in the same spot behind the dead pedal.

It's cheaper and you can compare the fuse from your vehicle.

Apologies for the double post, didn't see this one.
I recommend looking in the owner's manual - don't have it in front of me right now. I want to say it is, it's one of the 5 amp fuses near the bottom of the box and is accessible after you remove the pink cover.
You want to make sure your fuse tap is in something non-critical (e.g. seat warmers vs. a safety system like pre sense), has enough amperage to cover in the case of electrical failure, and is on a switch so it turns on/off with the vehicle.

I did the mirror tap for mine -- it took about 20mins to install and is super clean.

Got mine done a week ago. Had one loose wire and had to re-do/trace back to loose connection but otherwise this DITY was spot on. Easy to do...leisurely took me about an hour since the driver's side pillars were a PITA to run the hard wire cord through to route the connector to the window suction mount on my car. Otherwise..works great!

Resurrecting this thread since was the most comprehensive.
did this on a 2023 RS5
I followed the instructions above but had a hard time finding where to ground so I’ve added a picture to assist others. The other bolts weren’t good enough to ground to (used multimeter)
also the link to the Amazon fuse tap is a tap that’s long enough but was not wide enough if that makes any sense to anyone. I ended up going to autozone and getting a tap that was long and wide enough. (See attached pics where one is not long enough and the other isn’t wide enough) Added picture of the box as well as the end of it that I changed so that it would connect to the hardware kit I had. I added a 10 fuse that I had laying around to the tap in addition to the fuse I removed (5) .
I tapped into the sound aktor (5) is what I’m assuming it is (interior engine sound) which was a cold fuse and not a hot one so it’s not always on
