The Lamborghini Urus is built on the same platform as the Q8 but are they the same vehicle?
To the point of this post if I purchased the S5 or RS5 in my case I want my mats to match as well.

So how many changes need to be made to qualify something as different? IMO that sounds like a way to make someone who purchased the A5 feel better about their purchase and to downplay the S5 and RS5.

As long as the fit and quality of the cargo mat are good, I don't care whether the label on the mat says S5, A5, or even Ford Fiesta.

I have an S5 on order and I admit that it is a tarted up A5, not a fundamentally different vehicle. There is nothing wrong with that, as the A5 is a very good car.

I know they have more in common then what separates them but those things that separates them are the things I like about the car.

tarted up implies some bodykits and badges.
The chassis is the same - the body panels are mostly the same, but that's it.
Engine, trans, brakes, suspension, ecu programming, all are completely standalone from an A5. Go to an RS5 and all that changes again

I personally haven't seen the physical owners manual that comes with a S5 / RS5 but if the online manual is the same, it sounds like some people are going to be upset to find out it only says A5 on the cover.

never judge a book by it's cover
