Can't vouch for accuracy...
However, the URL offered below - the expectation is 2018 as a 2019 model, with the a twin-turbo V6 (no surprise).. there are quite a few threads over the past year where this has been thrashed out...

My '13 RS 5 is approaching 67K, and while it has been absolutely a trouble free car, I am looking to replace it with another. While the S5 would be nice, an RS would be better. Hope I can wait...

The longer I wait for my MLC car (mid life crisis), the more likely it will be an RS. Unless of course Audi accelerates the e-tron concept in an Avant style car (rather than bulky Q8 type cars), to compete with Tesla.
Btw, I wish we had a non-model-specific area of AudiWorld (perhaps in the Audi news area) to goggle over the RS futures. It seems promising.
Audi Will Sell Eight New RS Models by 2018
While I might be easily pursuaded to go for a TTRS or RS5, I would MUCH rather stick to the avant format and get an RS6 Avant or RS4 Avant in the US of A.

My sense is that the new RS5 will outperform the previous version....
.. but will be a very different car. High revving, naturally aspirated, high horsepower, low torque engines are dinosaurs in a world of tightening emissions and higher efficiency. I have loved my RS5 as it is a unique package as a GT. Handles well enough, comfortable on a long journey and great fun to here echoing of the canyon walls.
Once replaced, it will face some very stiff competition - especially if the quattro system is replaced by the one used in the new S4/S5.
We are pondering if an RS will be in our future - the TTRS is very tempting. I worry that the RS5 will get crazy expensive, and frankly, the new lines are not as compelling to me as the softer design of the current B8 A5/S5/RS5 coupes. What I really want is an RS4/6 Avant - but alas, not in the U.S.
Time will tell,
Eric

Next Audi RS 4 and RS 5 coming with 450 hp and 442 lb-ft, according to leaked dealer info
Boo hooo....
"Unfortunately, the RS 4 isn’t expected in the United States as it will once again be offered exclusively as a wagon."

At my age, with a stealth sports car...
… I could fly completely below the radar. That's how i like it. The Avants are just so beautiful. My last hot Avant was a 2001 Saab Aero with lots of aftermarket goodies. What a sweet beast..

I'm looking to switch from my S6 to a better handling car. I love my S6 but I don't need a 4 door anymore and want something that handles better, not that the S6 is a slouch; I guess I'm at my pre-midlife crisis too.
I want a sport cars that's good at everything, a Jack of all trades-master of none...something that is a comfortable DD but sportier than my S6, especially in the handling department. It needs to be something that'll hold me over until I get my supercar in a few years. I'm hoping that the future RS5 will fill that void. I'm also looking at the upcoming TT RS. As some of you have said, I hope Audi doesn't ridiculously price the RS5.
