Default 2018 S5 Cabriolet or 2018 E400 Coupe

went to test drive the S5 as well as the new E400 yesterday with the wife. Nice cars. The MB was unbelievable. 2 totally different cars obviously. Wife always liked MB. Will be trading in a 13 E350 Cab with 23000 miles. Tending to sway towards the MB. The self park feature on the MB was freaky. I already own a 16 A6 which is also a reason why she doesn’t want another Audi.

Why not the E400 Cabriolet? I think the looks on the s5 kills the E400 looks. The E400 looks like a fish in the front IMO and a bit larger than I would want. The s5 drives a lot more sportier than the E400. The interior IMO is better in the s5. I drove them both as well and the E400 felt like I was driving a Buick, nothing special. However my wife liked the E400 as well (must draw women for some reason). Since it is my car, I would get the s5 over the E400 (so far anyway). I'm close to pulling the trigger very soon on something.

i didn’t feel like spending almost $10k more at this point in my life. it’s going to be her car. She complains now if we’re going out to eat not to put the top down until we’re going home because it’s humid (my hair!) or it’s summertime here in SWFL and it’s too hot, etc. She also suffers from allergies during the time of the year here that you want the top down, I said screw it. I might as well buy a coupe that can actually fit 4 people very comfortably. The technology is the E400 is amazing. I got a bug up my rear and felt like getting a new car (whether I needed it or not. My 13 E350 has only 22700k miles) and I ended up pulling the deal off for the MB last night. It was cheaper than the S5 would have been. I liked the S5 but it won’t fit 4 comfortably for when we have relatives visit. So if it’s a battle of the coupes, the MB is better for us by far. As I previously said, she didn’t want 2 Audi’s in the garage.

Go for the Cab - either car. Its a style statement and I notice that it does wonders for confidence.

Does there have to be a point or am I not allowed to state the dilemma of the decision I have to make.

I would like to but I wouldn’t be doing it for my confidence. I care more about keeping more cash at this point in my life. Income is nowhere where it was when I was in NY for my whole life until March 15. I know it sounds crazy but it’s the way it is.

Well, there was one when I started the thread. Must I have a dilemma for perpetuity?
