A5/S5 Ordering Timeline Thread...post yours up

Took delivery of my 2019 A5 coupe. The RS5 next to it is ridiculous.
Best way to lease a car!
Negotiate a discount, order it just the way you want, and pick it up the day your previous lease ends.

After a few weeks of indecision, I finally placed an order for an S5 SB in Daytona Gray/Magma Red to replace my B8 A4. The dealer had an extremely nice S5 in Quantum Gray with BO, which is a combination I would have chosen if it did not include 20" wheels, but I decided to stay with my original color combination. Now begins three months of waiting.

Just an update for my non-starting A5 SB 20 hours into my ownership... The dealer sent an A4 loaner Up to me, and they towed the A5 to the dealership. While I was on vacation, they diagnosed it as a faulty battery cell (only 72% charge). The installed a new battery and tinted my windows with Llumar ceramic film to the NM legal limit (>20%), for free. They also drove it back up to me (I live 100 miles from the dealer) to exchange with the loaner the day after I got back from vacation. All in all, resolved rather easily. Then, there was a blizzard with over 2 feet of snow. It hasn’t slipped at all on the icy roads with 18” all weathers.

PHIL11 — That’s great news and what sounds like a “keeper” for a dealer. Hearing how some dealers / service departments go above & beyond is really good news.

It was parked in the garage, and I went to start it and it was a no go. The symptoms were really weird. I tried to jumpstart it and it didn’t work. There was some battery life, but it was mostly haywire, with the brake lights and such just staying on for no reason. I was worried is was something more complicated like the brake sensor. The car was one that came over from Emden in December that I had ordered back in October.
