Creating a new thread for easier access and search. As discussed in THIS thread, below is a dropbox link to the 3D printer ready file for the V2 RS style grille camera mount.

The designer who did the drawing had printed a version for me out of ABS however it looked very rough:

I reached out to a professional 3D print shop to see if there were better alternatives. They advised that ABS is not ideal for such a print (neither is SLA/DLP method as it deteriorates in the sun according to them). They recommended that it be printed out of hard black nylon. It was additional cost to print again at a different place but the part looks much better now. I will most likely not even paint it:

Still needs to be cleaned as there is residue in the screw cavities. The mount re-uses the existing OE camera back plate (that is what the posts in the rear are for).

For those in the Toronto area, the shop I used is Objex Unlimited. Cost was $75 CAD to print.

I will post updates on this thread on how I go about applying it to the grille (still debating options). Wanted to get the file out to the forum as some others may have creative ideas of their own.

Lastly, please note that there are 2 versions of the V2 grille. Differences are subtle but one version does not have the space required for this mount. Make sure that the space under the four rings where the camera goes looks like the below image before you pay someone to print this mount.

Awesome, thank you! I wish I knew about the slight difference between the housings, the one I bought has the small bridge right below the rings. I guess I have to modify it by cutting it out, shouldn’t be too difficult.

What are you guys doing about the europlate mounts? I want to remove them as well.

Wire cutters and a small saw did the trick, can't even tell that it was there. The other version of the V2 grille does not have the rectangle block under the rings which makes this mount in-compatible.

Re EU plate mounts, I will leave as is for now. I think that they will be hardly visible once it is on.

oh, I see, I thought there is another grill version :) I will just print with the company you suggested, it’s safe. Thank you again for all the work and sharing!

Update: I decided to cover the exposed area of the mount with a clear gloss spray. Did about 4 coats, blends in nicer with the grille now and is better protected from the elements now:

I also took a snap of the rear OE bracket plate and how it fits with the printed camera mount. Note that it will have to be reverse mounted (designer had to do it this way for some reason):

Side note: I ordered the OE RS5 crash bar cover that goes behind the OE grille (vs painting the crash bar). Will require some trimming for fit but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the aftermarket mesh pattern matches the honeycomb pattern on the upper part of the crash bar cover:

On the side note regarding the printing: I received confirmation from the printer you shared, they are very responsive and courteous. Quoted $75 CAD plus shipping to California.

Forgot to add… I did have to sand the camera channel entry from rear. The protruding camera lens widens slightly as it reaches the camera body. For the lens to sit flush with the front trim (as in my photos) you will need to slightly sand/open the channel entry in the back of mount. See photo below. I used my dremel, it was a 20 second job.

Bracket Install update:
I have attached the bracket to the grille; below are steps + images of what I did. Original plan was to fill the rear grille cavities with epoxy and then apply the bracket with screws that would set inside the epoxy. I then stumbled upon Sugru (moldable glue). Did a small test which seemed to hold well and decided to use it as a bonding agent.

1. Prep the Bracket
- I cleaned up all the printer residue inside the screw holes and the logo that the designer put on it
- Expanded the screw holes starting with a 5/64 drill bit and finishing with 7/64 (this will depend on what size screw you use)
- Put the screws through the bracket and then reversed them out enough so they do not poke out for easier install
- Sanded the areas that would be in contact with the molding glue

2. Prep the grille
- Sanded all the cavities where the moldable glue would be applied (highlighted in yellow in the pic below)
- Used two small bags from the 3 pack Sugru set ( ) to build a base that would support the top of the bracket as the area behind the rings is hollow
- I allowed two days for the glue to dry and create a soild surface I could set a screw in. Looking back, this can be done at the same time the bracket is applied (no wait time required)
- Filled the bottom and side cavities with mouldable glue, made sure it was packed well and removed any residue
- Proceeded with install immediately

3. Install
- Placed the mount and pushed it down slightly to make sure it was level with the grille
- Set the screws into the moldable glue
- Used the third bag of sugru to fill the logo area on bracket to add additional support to the top
- Applied pressure with a large zip tie overnight

I then let it sit for 48hrs to make sure the glue is completely dry.

Next step is the final install onto the car. Will have to wait until the bumper is off before I can start tinkering and trimming the crash bar cover.
