Since it's such a crap shoot ordering from China, I'll post the good experience I just had ordering the grill. Arrived in 11 days in fine condition. I ordered on ebay from seller rsr06.

I have a good line on the 3D printed camera mount, but waiting for it to arrive.

I also have a permanent license plate solution that looks great. I'll take some pics and see if I can figure out how to post them.

Thanks again s5ecificfor the camera mount work! Just stepping in here to report how I got mine printed. I used sculpteo.com. I selected the highest resolution printer with the best material and the finest finish. It looks super. Very strong, with a fine matte black finish. No additional work will be needed on it at all. Grand total delivered of $24.48.

Upload the file at their web site. Select “Multijet Fusion (Plastic) for Printer. Select “Nylon PA12 (Grey) for Material. Select “Dyed with Color resist” for Finish. Select “Black” for Color. Use coupon code “MYFIRSTPRINT” for $7.00 off.

Grille goes on soon I hope. Got to find some time……

I’ve had a few PMs re the camera mount angle for birdseye image post install. Adding to the thread here for future reference.

Below are some pics of the view in different situations. At times it seems that it could use a slightly more downward angle (see first pic), at other times it looks perfect. I can say after few months of use now, it looks correct more often than it does not.

After my initial post I did play a bit with the 4 torx screws that secure the top of the grille to the body (they allow for slight forward/backward movement of the grille - see last pic). I had originally pushed the grille as far back as possible. I believe that I ultimately ended up in a more middle/forward position which gives pretty good (if not perfect) camera alignment.

I’ve installed the honeycomb grille, but needed a permanent way to add a front license plate. For other’s reference, here is how I solved this. I like this end result because the plate is close up against the grille with no interference with the camera view nor obstructing the quattro lettering at the bottom.

No need to remove the grille if it’s already on the car.

Of course first remove the euro plate holder that came with the grille. I also reamed out the two honeycombs that held the euro grille so they are now open like the others.

Items needed:

Qty 1 License plate bracket Volvo 31391625, or aftermarket MTC brand part number VM944. About $15 on ebay.

Qty 4 Toggler SnapToggle BA 3/16” – about $1.25 each

Amazon ( ), or at

Lowe’s (https://www.lowes.com/pd/TOGGLER-10-...cluded/3183815).

No longer available at Menard’s or Home Depot

Qty 4 10-24x1” round head bolts stainless steel - any hardware store

Qty 4 1-1/4” OD x 1/2” ID washer stainless steel – any hardware store

See the pictures for reference. Slide a washer on the snaptoggle and then insert the unit into the grille at the locations shown (I put some black tape on the metal griping ends). Pull on the plastic handle and tighten onto the grill. Repeat for the other three. Use the license plate bracket holes for alignment – you do get some wiggle room.

Bend the license plate bracket bottom portion to conform to the grill contour. Install with the 10-24 bolts. Install the license plate with the cap screws provided with the bracket.

Nice and clean. I agree with you on the STO-N-SHOW, I don't like the looks of that solution either. To each their own.

Still have this grille for sale? Also, I have a front camera mount. Did it work with all of your sensors and camera?

Thanks @s5ecific for the R&D and sharing the 3D file (I messaged you on IG last week). Also thanks to @JLoft for the tips on ordering the print - just placed an order with Sculpteo.

My ebay grill came with a camera mount that was far to horizontal, no downward tilt (and it also sticks out very far). I also have the screwholes that align with my factory camera mount, but it would not fit into the cavity without hacking it up, which I didn't want to do. I may also order the comparable part designed for an RS5 to see if it will fit the replica grill, but this custom piece should work great!

The camera mount that comes with the V2 grille is atrocious - think i might have posted a pic earlier, plain ugly. I did not get a chance to test out the OE rear bracket as I had already mounted the 3D printed one - glad you got to test it. The crash cover is a bit of a pain but it looks much more OE like with it there (IMO). Good luck with the install!
