Pretty good video all the way through and a positive review.

That was a loaner car. What kind of loser abuses a loaner like that?

Loaner from Audi, not from some random dealer. I'm fairly confident that Audi knew who Matt Farah was before they called him up and offered him the car and they did it with every expectation that he would feature it on his heavily viewed YouTube channel.

Ah OK that makes more sense. I thought it was just a loaner from a dealer when you take your car in for service. If that's the case though I wonder why they didn't give him a S5 or RS5 instead.

Drive more sales of their volume car I guess.

That would be my guess. Granted, an S or RS would have been a much better choice to show off on a track, but I see nothing wrong with Audi trying to show off that capabilities of an A model. Very few of us are going to take our cars to the track. I did it once with my B7 S4 about 10 years ago (and it happened to be at the same motorpark as in the video). But knowing the car COULD survive on the track would make a buyer more confident it can hold up on the weekend run through the back roads.

Compared to what he was getting passed by, neither is an S5, and I would dare say that an RS5 might be pushing it. When I drove that track 10 years ago I had an absolute blast in my S4, but there was no way I was doing more than 8 laps on street tires and OEM brakes, especially with that very nose heavy V8 the B7 had. It's fine for a day or 2 every year, but if tracking was my passion I would be driving a stripped down 911 like most of the other guys at the track.

I was going to say. The S5 handles perfectly well but it is not a nimble car that you can throw around that easily. It's a heavy car.
