Default Audi financing

Hey all,

I'll be getting an A5 sportback tomorrow and an RS5 next month and was quoted 4.49% and 5.75% for 60 month terms from Audi financial. These are the highest rate i've ever seen on loans and while I was planning on refinancing 3 months after the loan (helping the dealer) I was curious to know what others are getting? Located in NY if it matters.

Your rates are extremely dependent on your individual creditworthiness. What's your credit score?

750. I honestly feel like he's padding the rate

You may not get the best rates with a 750 credit score. Is this your FICO 8 or the new FICO 9 score? For FICO 8 you need 761 or higher for exceptional credit and for FICO 9 you need 800 or higher. Your current score either way is in the good category, not the exceptional category. Not sure how much lower the AFS rates are if you have exceptional credit, though. Some lenders give the same rates for good and exceptional credit.

I just paid for my S5 Coupe - my credit score is 829 - Audi offered 3.49% for 60 months. I ended up with U.S. Bank @ 3.08% for 48 months with $39,000 down.

I got 3.19% for 60 months from VW Credit (Audi Finance) plus the $1000 loyalty bonus. Credit union is lower, so will go there after a few months.

My FICO is in the 770s, credit at 720, best I could get was 4.59% refinanced from the original 5.78% offered to me through AF. Definitely raised at eyebrow at these rates but it makes sense given the rise in interest rates as of late as well as more stringent considerations when offering loans. Pay it off early or use it during negotiations for leverage, not worth prolonging the payments that's for sure.
