Searched but can't find anything on this issue. When navigation instructions are spoken my audio does not mute or reduce volume level. I've tried all settings for this in the MMI and none make a noticeable difference. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

If you are talking about navigation instructions from the Audi nav, then the setting is under the sound settings. It's called Entertainment fader. You can control how much it fades. If you are talking about CarPlay/AA, then I believe there is no setting. Last time I tried CarPlay, one of the complaints I had was that it didn't mute the audio source, but that might have been a bug back then.

There's not a separate setting in AA, correct. Maps will mute the audio automatically. Waze has a separate setting to control the level of muting.

Under AA, n addition to mixing the audio sources from the phone to "duck" (lower volume) or pause (typically the latter is for spoken word apps like podcasts) which is handled by the phone, navigation and other spoken instructions from the Assistant are handled by the MMI on a separate channel. When AA is speaking (eg, during TBT directions or answering a question thu Assistant) if you turn the volume **** in your car, you can adjust this volume. It's independent of the media audio volume in the MMI.

I just testing this on my drive home today and CarPlay does use the Entertainment Fader setting when using Apple Maps navigation.

Thanks for all of the replies. I was referring to the audi nav system, not carplay or AA.
