Automatic Opening of Car When Approaching
 

Has anyone been successful in getting this to work using OBDEleven and long coding? If so, I can really use some guidance please. Feature sounds intriguing.

Do you mean the ‘welcome home’ feature on the OBD apps list? I don’t think it unlocks the car, rather it just turns on all the lights when it senses you are near. Which is very cool.

I actually am talking about automatic opening but what I was trying to achieve having the car light up as I approach it so welcome home might be what I really want. I will look into that app. Thanks

No that's not it. What I was hoping to do was have the A5 turn on its interior and door handle lights as I walk up to it without having to touch or use the key fob in any way just have it in my possession.

I have successfully activated auto unlocking, however, after locking the car, if you don't walk away fast enough, it unlocks again....

Anybody have an idea how to stop this?????

Wonder if there is an automatic_closing/locking option that can be activated also using the OBD11 so that it locks the car after you move 1-2m from it.

I activated Auto Unlock as I approach with Carista-(beta tester for B9). Now courtesy lights come on, and all doors unlock as I approach. If i walk away, it will auto lock too. I could have set to all doors unlock or just drivers door.

When I went into the long coding of Control Unit 46, I noticed something labeled automatic_closing right below automatic_opening. Both were set to not active. I didn't want to be the guinea pig so I stayed away. I'm sure someone out there has a bigger set than me and will try it out!
