In Northern Europe, the sky is grey, not gray

I think there is something a bit special about Nardo grey, but have trouble working out exactly what that is. When it first appeared on C7 RS vehicles, there were plenty of jokes about being the undercoat, etc. But in the flesh it looks the opposite to me - it has a real density to it. It looks twice as thick as other paints.

I particularly like it on the RS3 Sportback, with black optics, and you must have seen (and heard!) a few of those where you are. It looks incredibly tough and mean and solid, all in a good way. Seems to suit the S5 well too, although I would have ordered it with body coloured mirror caps, or black ones. For me, Nardo doesn't work well with bright trim. But yes, this stuff is all personal taste.
