So I have had my new 2019 S5 sportback Prestige with BO, sSport package, fully loaded etc for about 2 months now. Ever since I purchased the car I notice the brakes make this errrrt noise when I break at low speeds. Can anyone tell me if this is normal. It feels as though the brake pads are creating extra resistance with the rotors and it makes this vibrating errttt noise.

My 2018 S5 SB has always done this. I’ve chalked this up as perfectly normal. I think it just comes with the territory of big brakes.

Same experience here. Started slightly squeaking when slowing to a stop about 4 months into ownership. I don’t think it’s a problem with the brakes just that they’re big and as mentioned above big breaks sometimes squeak. Noticed that if you speed up to 50kmph and brake hard to a stop it temporarily fixes it. I have friends however with carbon ceramic brakes and they also get squeaks which sucks on a ~10k upgrade but🤷🏼*♂️

Never really thought about it. Have always blamed the higher performance pads but now that it is mentioned, a bigger disc would naturally be more resonant. Like a big bell compared to a small one. Makes sense.
