I use Pandora when I am not listening to podcasts or my personal library via iTunes. The Carplay interface is amazing and the sound quality is very good. My GF has Sirius in her car and the sound quality is just awful not to mention they now seem to have as many commercials as commercial radio. I do not see the attraction unless you are in need of the many news and sports channels available. Not the best choice for music IMO.

We have 2 cars and pay for SXM on both. One of them has internet streaming included. I was considering dropping the second car and just using the app on CarPlay to save the second subscription. I don’t currently have unlimited data on my phone’s plan so I decided it would cost about the same to upgrade to unlimited wireless if I dropped the one SXM account so I just signed up for another year. Just a thought though. They do have a streaming service that may be a bit cheaper for you to consider.

While I have a “lifetime” subscription, my wife does not — she has a 6 month subscription (has had it since her 3 month trial expired 6 years ago) and every 6 months she calls Sirius and tells them to cancel her account. Sirius always comes back with an offer for another 6 months for around $36 +\- for an additional 6 months.

She just called last week and got a year for $70. Tell them you want to cancel and see what they come back with. Nothing ventured / nothing gained.

+1 on what John said. I do the same song and dance for both my vehicles every six months, its not that bad. 10 mins on the phone and you are paying ~$5/month for XM Select. I really like the comedy channels.

Are you guys not having to pay the music royalty fee on top of the basic subscription cost? They started charging that last time I renewed.

My wife’s total bill was including all the bs fees that they charge. As for my lifetime, my only fees are when I transfer my subscription to a new radio and then it’s a $75 per transfer fee.

$70 is pretty good. Does that include streaming? I pay about $60 for 6 months including streaming.

Her plan does not. My lifetime does.
