Cost of window tint and ceramic coating for A5 SB
Dealer wants $800 to do front side windows in 35% ceramic, rear side and hatch windows in 15% ceramic.
$400 to do windshield in clear crystalline. Lifetime warranty. Deal or no deal?
2 step ceramic nano coating hand applied for $2500. 5 year warranty. Deal or no deal?
i am inclined to do the tinting because of lifetime warranty. Ceramic coating sounds really expensive.
Oh, BTW, Mythos Black Metallic, haha

Dealer wanted $500 for standard window tint. However, he accepted to do them for $200 (since that how much specialized shop charge for them). Furthermore, some A5/S5 owner reported scratches on their tint so lifetime warranty from the dealer was a big plus. Otherwise, I suspect dealer and installer would decline their responsibility.

Standard tint would not work in Arizona, like 330 days of sunshine and temps over 100-115 for June, July and August. What works in Quebec probably isn't a good idea here, haha

$400 for the windshield seems to be the going rate for 3M Crystalline; that is the going rate here in Houston from an authorized 3M Crystalline shop. There are many shops out there that do offer Crystalline, but very few are certified and backed.
$800 for the rest of the vehicle done in 3M Crystalline sounds about right for a large SUV or truck. You did not specify if that is what you are getting.
Keep shopping if these prices are not what you are looking for. 3M Crystalline is considered top tier, but there are many more ceramic films out there that can offer you similar performance if not the same performance (e.g. SunTek CIR, XPEL Prime/Prime Plus, Huper Optik, Llumar, etc.).
Shop for the brand first, then consider the tint installer. Not the other way around.
As for ceramic coatings, it is the opposite. Consider a local professional detailer. Again, you did not specify what ceramic coating you are getting but $2500 is certainly on the extreme side. Yes, there is prep (paint decontamination/correction) involved, but you are still looking at sub-$2k all-in for a vehicle of this size.
