I realize it's tough to locate any purple car, nevermind 2 in different shades, but going by pictures just doesn't work because everything is so dependent on lighting. My car is Quantum but looks Nardo in outdoor sunlight pics.

Yep, that's the Greg I've been talking to. My order went in mid October 2018 for Garnet Red Pearl. Greg says my order is one of the very first in line for when the paint shop opens. I hope that means I'll be able to take delivery around July/August.

In addition to the added wait time, potential for a tough resale, and some police baiting with bright colors, doesn't custom paint cost between 3,000 and 3,500 dollars

US.. One possible pro to having to wait so long is that I might be able to work a better deal with it arriving so late in the 2019 model year with 2020s right around the corner.

I don't think the color I went with was too crazy from a resale point of view. I just wanted a darker red color than the standard misano red offered. And yes, an exclusive color is a $3,900 (US) option. I'm buying and plan on keeping this one for a while so I wanted to get exactly what I wanted. I've been shopping for a new car for about 4 years now so the extra wait isn't really that big of a deal for me at the point.

I was first on the list for an RS5 SB at my dealer. When they contacted me to say order books were open, they were going to give me one of their first allocation for custom order ... knowing my plan was for Audi Exclusive in Merlin Purple. Even then, they warned me about an AE order, that standard colors would be late 2018 / early 2019 while AE orders -- even if done with the first batch -- could be as late as Q219. When I spoke to them a couple weeks ago, they said it was probably good I didn't go AE because those units have been pushed out even further.

I think I posted these before, but I did a bunch of mock-ups on the RS5 SB to see how it might look in a variety of colors, both AE and standard (Misano, Glacier, Mythos). Anyway ... looking forward to my exclusive, but not Audi Exclusive color when it arrives in the next week or two.

I thought this one might be Misano, but according to Vincenzo at AoA it's actually Porsche Guards Red

To me that looks like Glut Orange but something has to be off the screen color as its very close to the caliper colors which I know are red.
