Default Disappointing 0 to 60 times...

Hello everyone,

I have a dragy for my S5 sportback B9 and I've been consistently recording in the 4.3 to 4.6 range for my 0 to 60. Below are my mods as well:
- APR intercooler
- roceuro intake
- milltek downpipe
- milltek exhaust
- jb4 map 5 with e85
- michelin pilot sport 4s tires

Does this mean I have an undertuned sportback . Any insight will be appreciated.

The rated 0-60 time for the S5 SB is 4.5 seconds. So I think you are right in that ballpark. There are obviously many other variables that can affect this time.

Logically, it is either that, or, the mods you did are only cosmetic and give no actual benefit. What was the 0-60 time before making any mods? That would help clarify things.

Great question, unfortunately didn't have my dragy when my car was stock. I'll try turning off my jb4 and see what the 0-60 time is. Thanks.

Personally, I have a difficult time telling the difference between 4.3 and 4.6 second 0 to 60 times. I guess it’s important but I do know my S5 Sportback Is fast

There are many variables that would affect the 0-60 performance on any given day, temperature, humidity, altitude, good/bad batch of gas and many others. Based on your mod list below, besides the JB4 module, the rest of the mods really have minimal effect on 0-60 times.

- APR intercooler - Would come into play after multiple back to back 0-60 runs once the engine it heat soaked or if you're autox or tracking your car.
- roceuro intake - Useless.
- milltek downpipe - Minor difference.
- milltek exhaust - Minor difference.
- jb4 map 5 with e85
- michelin pilot sport 4s tires - Bigger/wider tires have a detrimental effect on 0-60 times for an awd vehicle since you're adding weight without any additional traction benefits, good for autox/tracking your car for lateral grip and such, but no effect on 0-60.

0-60 times are highly over rated anyway. With traction control and other "torque management" functions buried away in the ECU, launching a car is being held back. My 540 BMW is as fast as the 400 hp 550 I had a few years ago according to all road tests, and it feels it. Yet I have turned off all the nannies and done everything I can think of, but it will not spin the tires from a dead stop. And yes, it is RWD only. Something is holding it back.

I've been a huge car guy for many years. I bought my first car magazine in 1965, and still have it. Many times I have read that the best indicator of horsepower is the 1/4 mile trap speed. And BTW, mid range toque is almost not a factor in test times. The engine spends about a second in the mid range in wide open acceleration tests.

Hi,
Best bet is to run a log in map 5 and email it over to me at George@burgertuning.com
Also worth doing a run in map 0 to get a comparison.
Are you using the launch control when testing?

With your mods you should easily be in the 3's.

Hi George!

Yes, I'm using launch control (revving up to 3k rpm if that's what you're referring to).
Sounds good, I'll email it over to you once I run the log.

Thanks.
