Default DIY Vinyl Wrapping

I decided to experiment on a DIY vinyl wrap today. Got a piece of 3M VVivid carbon fiber wrap and a heat gun to see how doable this is as I知 planning on doing a chrome delete.

I figured the easiest one and less risky to do are the side badges. I知 sure it would be a lot easier if I take the badges out instead of wrapping them on the spot.

It痴 decent but I知 not 100% happy with it. It definitely looks better than the chrome IMO. I知 thinking of redoing this with either a gloss black vinyl or gloss carbon fiber. I think with a little bit of practice this will look better.

More to come...

It looks good!
Those pieces are really easy to get off! I took them off to paint them gloss black.

Looking good so far. The tight returns and inside of curves are the hardest parts of the piece to do for me.

Thanks guys. Yes, the corners and the tight returns are really challenging. I would have to redo them for a better stretch on the corners.

Care to share how you took them off? I知 afraid to just pry them off and break a tab or something.

I have an A5 on order......I don't like those badges and I too would like to wrap them....the chrome looks ugly ,in my estimation ....any help in removing would be appreciated.

Looks good. I just did similar pieces on a S5 last week but in gloss black.

It's relatively easy to do. With the right tools and basic understanding on how certain wraps react to certain materials + heat + sharp corners (YouTube helped me out a lot in this area) and adequate dexterity, it can be done at home.
