Do we get pass-through on the B9 Sportback?
I thought our rear seats are split three ways and you can see the middle section is separate and there's a latch where it latches against the left seat, but according to the manual there should be a **** that rotates to release it. Instead, I have a latch to attach a car seat. Is there any way to release the middle section for pass-through? It's weird that they would have made the middle section separate but simply removed the mechanism to open it, just to put in that stupid latch.

That's the backrest, I'm talking about opening the center section so you can put long things like skis in the trunk and not lower both seats. It's on the next page, and I don't have the rotating **** they're talking about. Does anyone here have that?

Yep on the SB you have to do it from the inside. The issue with the manual is that it covers everything in the 5 series (A, S, RS and Coupe, Cab, SB, and Premium, P+, Prestige). Some things apply and others do not.

That thread shows where the hidden latch is - but I just want to point out that you don't need to drop the armrest to get to it. Just reach into that slot at the top of the armrest and push up on the button on top.
I use the pass through all the time to carry hockey sticks and I can actually reach over and hit the button while standing at the back of the car with the hatchback open. Ideally there would be a release on the trunk side as well, one I could activate with the butt end of one of the sticks. That's the way I used to do it on my B8 S4. But given the way you can reach into the cabin from trunk area when the hatch is up, it's not that big a deal.

Yes but it should cover everything on the cars and say "some do not apply". That feature is just missing.

Yes, you do not have to lower the armrest. Pass-through is one of my requirements for cars I buy as I work in the fishing industry and carry a bunch of fishing rods in the car many times. I'd like to carry them without having to fold a seat down.
