Exactly...even in the non-Sportback threads, it eventually goes to Sportback chatter. In channeling my inner Jan Brady, I just want to whine 'Sportback, sportback, sportback!'

I'd personally settle for a name change on this one to include the Sportback as a compromise

Although the OCD part of me would really love to see consistency across the forums re: model hierarchy. The B9 A4 and A4 allroad have their own separate forums under the A4 section, but the B9 S4 is under the completely separate S4 section, then you have this forum with the B9 A/S/RS5 all lumped in and missing the Sportback from the name, then the Q's are grouped together in a section, then broken out in to their own separate forums with models like the Q/SQ5 sharing forums, and so on.

There are separate forums for the A7, S7 and RS7.

So why not separate A5 from S5 and RS5?

My personal feeling is that whether or not a specific model has its own forum should be determined by overall forum traffic. Some specific models generate huge interest due to overall sales, tuning market, etc. while others do not.

I almost think a better split would be A4/A5 and then another forum for S4/S5/RS5. I think the A vs. S-RS distinction may be more relevant for discussion purposes.

Just a thought.

That sounds like a great idea

That makes the most sense.

A4/A5 would be too massive imo. A4 folks won't be interested in reading A5 posts and the A5 posts would just be drowned out. It's not that hard to click over to a different convo, we all do that now.

Seems like most want an A5/S5 split...being that's how other models are handled.

Everyone is different, but I'm interested in almost everything that's posted in the S4 forum. Most S4 posts are relevant here and, I believe, vice-versa.

The A4 and A5 are basically variants of the same car. Mechanicals, tuning, etc will be relevant to both models. As would an S4/S5 forum.

What I mean by this is that the A4 enthusiast has more in common with the A5 enthusiast and the S4 enthusiast has more in common with the S5 enthusiast.

This.

The S4/S5 share engine, transmission, most options, VC, etc. I go there to find out about, for instance, the S-Sport adaptive suspension...
