EMD RS Grille/Front Parking Sensor Issue

Hey all,
(snip)
I received the replacement grille a week later. This grille was exactly the same with the exception of what looked like a hardened resin or glue around where the sensors plugged in, to make sure it was stable I'm guessing. I installed them the same way I did with the previous grille and when I plugged everything back in and tested....WALA! No faulty alarms! I tested it and drove it around, parked behind some cars and it went off like it should.

Thanks for reading!

Do you have a picture of the resin or glue around the sensors?
It seemed to me that the tab securing the sensor was rubbing against the crash bar, so I installed some rubber blocks to puch the grill forward at the sensors. With this, I dont get false readings.

paulhiggs,
I can see if I can get a picture with the grille already mounted. I didn't think to snap a picture when I took it out of the box.
Also, what model do you have? I have read other threads about people stating that the crash bar is in the way. Im guessing maybe the grille you ordered was a little different than mine, because there are 2 indentations on my crash bar when the sensors fall into and there is no touching at all. I'll see if I can get a picture here.

I just ordered the EMD grille for my 2018 Daytona Gray Pearl S5. Glad I went with the all black, I think that looks better than the version with silver edges. And SO much better than the "sedan-look" of the original grille. Here's hoping I won't have any sensor issues..I will definitely report back in this thread.
BTW...an RS3 putting out 850hp??

Yup, I did notice that actually. But I appreciate your reply nonetheless. I am not blacking out anything on my S5 (e.g. keeping silver mirror caps), so I actually prefer and ordered the silver rings on the all-black grille.

Stock silver bumper
Painted flat black (bed liner “paint”) bumper
No Silver bumper “show through”
I went with the all black grille as well. I’ll be (attempting) to install the EMD Black Audi Rings tomorrow. If I have to remove the grille to get the rings swapped out — I think I’ll just leave the silver rings alone.
Good Luck with your Install.
