When the S5 Sportback was announced we knew this would be our next car to replace the daily driver A8L which was now an #offroadaudi. An S7 or RS7 had been on our radar for a year or so, but with that body style ending and deciding to keep the A8L as an all around adventure and extra vehicle it afforded us the opportunity to go with a smaller car.

After a brutal search around the SF Bay Area and tapping nearly every dealership for a similar car to what we finally found I reached out to our very own Richib86 with the idea that there were so few S5 Sportback up here that he'd make us a great deal and ship it across the US. Luckily at the last minute we were able to strike up a deal with Audi Rocklin after a few months of back and forth.

Loads of planned modifications are on the way, exterior, interior, lighting, steering, wheels, suspension and beyond. It will be a daily driver so it will keep that functionality while being modified just the right amount to make enjoyment and appearance that much better.

Stay tuned to this thread for updates which are coming soon as the first mods are just arriving...

First mod, first candid shot...

Mirrors Carbon Fiber Housings

These genuine Audi carbon fiber mirror caps are truly some of the nicest carbon pieces I've held in a while. They are full carbon fiber and not an overlaid piece, weigh just a few ounces, seamless fitment and a damn decent price for what you get.

More mods coming soon...

Some visibility finally!

Headrests A5, S5 Rear

Sick of those huge goofy North American headrests? Yeah I was too and they had to go right away. Installation was a snap, fold down the seat, undo clips, slide old out and slide new in, instant rear visibility and a much clear appearance!

If anyone has any questions or needs don't hesitate to ask via PM or email: contact@europrice.us

Cheers,

Looking forward to seeing more! Do you stock these items and how long do you estimate the delivery time to be if I live in Washington State?

Some items in stock, some items direct from Europe to you, some items have a stop here to be prepared for your order, super dependent on the product. Many of the products have options or many variations so it's hard to hold all the variations readily available.

Cheers,

That's fair. Do you happen to have things like the ecode headlights and the carbon side mirror casings in stock?

There are two options on the e-codes, genuine from Audi or the OEM which is manufacturer direct. Both would come from Europe for your order. The quality is the same, the OEM would not have the Audi rings or part numbers on the exterior however. It's a great way to save a bundle on the lights. Plus these come with the needed coding for disabling the side markers as well.

HEADLIGHTS A5, S5 LED (OEM)

The mirror housings would come from Europe as well due to the much better pricing.

MIRRORS CARBON FIBER HOUSINGS

Both take around 2-3 weeks total to arrive directly to your location.

If you have any other questions or anyone else does please do not hesitate to inquire via PM or email: contact@europrice.us

Cheers!

Finally had a bit of time to dig into the project and get a few first time installs done up. Learned some valuable tips and tricks on several installs.

Can't go wrong with full on black optics consisting of the main grille, lower trim and bumper grilles:

GRILLE S5 BLACK OPTIC

For cars that have front parking assist you will find that Audi trimmed your factory grille to make room for the parking sensor bracket and sensor. There's not mention of this in the factory repair manual, but sure enough if you look at the backside of a factory S5 grille you will find two hand made cuts/trims to make room for the bracket/sensors. Nothing too complex and a dremel made easy work of this, but something to keep in mind when upgrading.

Next up was what I suspect is the first S5 in the US with the CETE Active Valve Control:

CONTROLLER PACKAGE EXHAUST VALVE

This little module makes controlling the exhaust valves much simpler. Comfort closes the valves until 5k rpm. Automatic let's the valves do as Audi programmed them to behave. Dynamic opens the valves at all times for a proper uncorked sound. We can double tap the ESP button and this closes or opens the valves on command. For cars without a front camera system there appeared to be no way to get the needed CANBUS signal except from the Gateway which is under the rear seat. However after a few hours of digging around I was able to find the proper CAN Extended signal passing through the left side of the trunk for the side assist. Also found some nice clean ways to run the wiring so it looks factory.

The big install was the European taillights. I can't stand the blinking brake light with the dynamic sweeping turn signal and sadly these can't be uncoupled in the North American lights. I also like to have a rear fog light available to use when needed. Someone has to be the first to dive in so...

TAILLIGHT PACKAGE A5, S5, RS5 LED

Doing this install is not all that hard, but if you add in the rear fog light option it becomes a bit more of a project. The outer taillights are easy, swap the plugs, run two wires to the BCM2 and button things up. For those of us who want all the options the rear fog wiring takes a bit more time. Trunk lid trims aren't that hard to remove, lots of clips and snaps. The left side trim along the glass on the lid I just popped free and left loose versus taking that whole trim off. The real trick on this is getting the wires passed through. Audi sends the lid wiring beyond where one would suspect so a bit of fishing is required, but doable for problem solvers. I pulled the factory trunk lid seal on the left side and ran the wiring down to the BCM2. All in all not bad, just time consuming and maybe not for anyone hoping for plug and play installations. Using VCP to set the parameters that I had VCP get together for the kit is simple and worked a charm as you can see...

There is more coming soon after this weekend. Hopefully have time to also get in another proper photoshoot when more goodies have made their way onto/into the car so stay tuned!

If anyone has any questions on these installs or items or anything else don't hesitate to PM or email: contact@europrice.us

Cheers!

It is coming together pretty nicely Alex!
I still have the lower left/right BO grilles I got from you sitting in the garage. I am just waiting on an RS style aftermarket grille to be released.

I got my 2018 S5 yesterday, trading in my beloved 2009 S5. My '09 had become an extension of me, and the '18 is just not comfortable yet. We are just getting acquainted and is going to be awhile before we can get to the same level of integration as my '09.

So I'm starting to map out the mods I need to do to start getting there. One thing I know I have to change is the front grill. I think that is the weakest part of the new look. To me it kind of looks like a Hyundai Sonatas grill, so it must go.

I really like the look of the Europrice Black Out grill option. I'm pretty handy with a wrench but have never swapped out a grill before and would like to know what it would take to do this swap. Are there instructions available to review or a video to watch showing what is involved before I make the purchase?
