Yes (truly increased exhaust sound). There are valves on the exhaust, and more are open / opened more fully in Dynamic mode. The simulated sound is produced by the soundakator. My guess is, it is likely louder in Dynmanic mode as well, but I have my soundaktor turned off via OBD11.

I am assuming you are asking why I turned off my soundakator? I really didn't hear any appreciable benefit to it, and it greatly reduced the drone-like sound when on the expressway running 2000 RPM (roughly 80 MPH).
And speaking of exhaust sound, if I want to enjoy it without hammering the throttle, my favorite thing to do in stop / go traffic is to use manual mode. Downshift at 2000 rpm and upshift at 3000 rpm. All sorts of burbles and great sounds.

Yes, this! I turned the soundakator off too and just listen to my AWE Touring instead. This combo of obd11 soundakator hack and AWE hardware really does result in a very awesome sound experience. Fun sounds in manual mode as stated above, yet still fairly agressive in sport / dynamic, and super civil and drone free for a car with a modified exhaust at cruising highway speeds in both D and S tranny modes.
