Default Front plate filler for sportback: $150??!!

Has anyone found a reasonably priced alternative to buying the Audi OEM part 8W6807287BRP5 (twilight matte)?

I have seen new oem prices for this seemingly basic and relatively small part range from $150 up to $200+.

I'm inclined to see if the part could be 3D printed and painted.

If anyone has a used one in good shape, I'm interested.

It's a bummer to see the simpler B9 A4 part go for < $30 new on eBay.

you could buy a whole front grill from ebay for around that price that doesn't have a front plate and sell yours for around the same.

You can get them much cheaper here:

https://www.audiusaparts.com/

I ordered my front plate filler from them, and paid about $120 shipped. Far cheaper than any other dealer.

Also, Audiusaparts is just a front end for Sunset imports, which is huge in the Porsche community. I've purchased many things from them for my 911

Can you share the name of the dealer?

That site lists the part at $154 shipping included. I'll call them to see if they can provide a better deal.

Was your part for an A5 or S5? I'd like to know if we're making apples-to-apples comparison given that the parts are different.

Don't quote me one the $100 price, but either way it was no more than $130 INSTALLED. Also got the Audi beams installed too so I can't remember the exact price for the trim piece.

Haven't figured out how to edit posts on here yet, but also I forgot to mention I might have been either tax exempt or got a 10% discount. Just talk to your local dealer's parts department and ask if what's the best they can do. They'll probably take the 10% off for you.

Looks like the price went up. It was $12x when I bought mine in 11/17. I have an S5, and the PN# I used was 8W6-807-287-D-RP5

It really is ridiculous how expensive this part is for what it is. My dealer offered 10% off MSRP, which would have been around $200 bucks.

I almost didn't buy it even @ $120 bucks because it's still over priced, but caved in when I saw on pictures how clean it looked.

If you are thinking about or are in the process of ordering your sportback, have the dealer throw it in with install like I did. It's like floormats, they likely will not think twice about it to get the sale.
