G meter
Is it possible to code in the G meter on an B9 S5? |
I believe so, but since there is no G-sensor in the S5, no reason to do it.

I was able to code for the G sensor (OBD 11) on my 5S and have it show in the VC but it did not do anything. Was told afterward that the sensor modal itself was not on the S but is in the R. Following to see if the sensor itself can be added. |
Me too. I wonder if there is a way to install an aftermarket G meter?

I have a feeling said hardware is a tiny SoC (like those on modern cell phones) that was not soldered to one of the ECU boards for the S.

All B9 models have a G sensor, it is part of the centralised chassis control system and is used for a variety of functions. I have no idea if the RS models MMI display system is tapping the CAN-bus data from this sensor, or they added a separate one. Probably the latter. |

Funny you should mention that, as the new MIB3 version of the MMI system that is appearing in the B9.5 update is using the new Samsung Exynos Auto 8890 processor to drive the infotainment system.

Is acceleration or yaw sensor what needs the software to recognize or connect in order for the G meter to work?

I use the accelerometer all the time. With Torque, all you need is an OBD2 dongle (they are cheap and easily available) and your problem is solved. I have a magnetic mount from JB4 stuck to my dashboard where I mount my phone for easy viewing in real-time.
