The G22 BMW 4 Series Grille is Still Ugly.

Acura had the infamous beak and now BMW has the butt grille.

This is one of those designs that will "never" grow on you no matter how long you wait! I think the humiliation BMW will face on the forums, magazines, etc.will cause this design to be shelved quickly. It happened to Acura with the "beak" a few years ago.

And that horrible trunk lid beak — what were the designers thinking on those horrible designs?

I was referring to the Acura rear deck beak that matched the ugly front beak.

While talking Acura’s — increasing the size of the front emblem in the middle of the grille is another horrible misstep.

I agree. If BMW had made the 4 series a mini eight series, I think it would have been an absolute homerun. This makes me think someone went and put their butt on the photo copier and they used it as inspiration to design the front end.

Ha, I can actually see someone doing that on the copier at BMW.

Good read and I agree. Audi's design team just executed it better and with elegance. The tall grilles makes the front end bigger than it needs to be. If they had implemented shorter wider grilles like the 8 series, I think the car would have been a homerun.
