Default Natural Gas type smell from wheels/hood S5 Sportback

Just got a brand new 2018 S5 Sportback Prestige earlier today with 151 miles on it brand new. Noticed that after the car is off can smell a natural gas type odor that you would smell if you were near a household gas meter. It’s not incredibly strong but it is there. I mainly smell it near the wheels and where the vents are on the top of the hood where it meets the windshield. I have never had an Audi before and am very concerned. Has anyone else experienced this? Cannot smell this inside the car while running but am so afraid that I have some sort of fuel leak or issue on a brand new car. I am not extremely car savvy but I have never noticed something like this in any car before. If anyone could offer some insight would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Does it smell like burned wax? I know many people including me have seen melted white wax on the floor during the first weeks of delivery. They put a bunch of protective wax around the engine/transmission to protect them during shipment and they tend to burn off during the first weeks. Perfectly normal if that's what you smell.

Yeah, My S5 had a smell from under the bonnet when warm. It gradually disappeared over a few weeks. I thought it smelt a bit like a dead mouse, but not quite the same or as nasty, so I didn't suspect there was a deceased rodent hiding somewhere.

At least it was only outside the car and the interior still has that nice "new car" smell.

Same here and I too had a white melted wax type substance that dripped from under the hood area for the first few weeks after delivery. There have been several threads about this and some even include pictures of it.

Thanks guys for getting back to me. Its more of a sulphur type smell. I spoke with 3 separate service depts and they all felt its just from the car being so new and that if it was a major issue a light would come on. They said should go away after 600-1k miles, but to bring it in if it does not. Appreciate the replies.
