Default Hatch popping open unexpectedly

I think it is due to having my house key on the Audi fob. Maybe the house key gets on the side with the buttons and depresses it in my pocket. Anyone else experiencing this?

happened to me too, there's coding change you can do so that they keyfob needs to be
pressed longer time so that an accidental open is less likely ...

this is not limited to audi. my previous bmw did the same thing .
a simple fix should be put in place industry wide. perhaps press release and press again.

Or maybe I stick the key in a case. I usually don’t use the buttons on the key.

I've been having this issue with my RS5 as well. It's been like 4 times now where I walk up to my car to find that the trunk lid is open. Once in the rain. Can anyone confirm that re-coding helps?

Also, has anyone noticed a difference between the matte versus shiny key? When I first picked u the RS5, I was using the matte black key and never had the trunk lid open on its own. After about a month, I switched over to the shiny black key and that's when the trunk issue occurred. It could be just coincidence, though.

It's definitely the key fob. Happened to me as well.

It happened to me once, and it's a weird feeling when walking back to the car to see that hatch open ..

I used the OBD11 tool to increase the time needed to open the hatch on the keyfob and haven't had a problem since ...

Thanks, guys. Would the dealer be able to update the coding for me? I don't have access to the coding tool myself.

I'm not sure I would go to the dealership demanding they code your car. I would just go and tell them what is happening.
